How safe are dental x-rays?

Dental x-rays are very safe. A single dental digital X-ray in our practice has lesser radiation dose than the normal daily background radiation we all receive each and every day. In other words the amount of radiation that a dental x-ray produces is about the same as you would receive from an airplane ride to Auckland.
